Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana age limit : The Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a savings scheme specifically designed to encourage parents to save for their girl child’s education and marriage expenses. The account can be opened for a girl child under the age of 10 years.
Once the account is opened, the depositor needs to make regular deposits until the account matures or until the girl child gets married, whichever comes earlier. The account matures after 21 years from the date of opening, and the deposits can be made for a maximum period of 15 years.
Therefore, the age limit to open a Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account is up to 10 years, but after that, the account will continue to earn interest until it matures after 21 years.
